LG has sent an email to XDA, alerting the band of modders to its future plans regarding unlocking the bootloader on future phones. The answer was in response to some missive sent by XDA member Wolfgart, inquiring about an official solution from LG. The manufacturer replied that should be prepping a server to be applied for any safer bootloader unlocking process.
In line with the email from LG, they're trying to create a target some time to device, to implement its bootloader unlocking strategy. While it could become a full flagship generation or two ahead of people, a current model just like the LG G3 can be covered by whatever process LG decides on.
Unlocking the bootloader in your phone will allow install custom ROMs. That is certainly great for people who know what they're doing. The casual phone owner does not really got to concern himself in that. If you undertake unlock the bootloader in your phone, you'll void the warranty upon the handset. For people who know what they're doing, It's positive news that LG has apparently made a decision to move forward for this issue.
"Thanks a lot for the feedback regarding bootloader unlock and We're sorry for almost any inconvenience and disappointment which were caused by lack of support for bootloader unlock on the newest LG smartphones.
We're already mindful of many developers’ requests and opinions on LG bootloader unlock.
So we happen to be preparing a server to supply safer bootloader unlock.
Also, We're internally discussing the target model and time of providing bootloader unlock.
However, it may need some added time due to technical restrictions, security issues, and also the policy of mobile carriers.
We deeply apologize that we both are unable to back up bootloader unlock at this time and want to seek your kind understanding.
We'll let you will know more specific information once the support policy for bootloader unlock is decided.
Best Regards,
LG"
